The news that a photo has been taken of a ‘monster’ like form in Lake Windermere, the Lake District, is no doubt causing a stir among cryptozoologists – Nessie hunters to the general public.
Taken a fortnight ago, the photo follows a suggested sighting of a lake monster by a tourist a couple of months ago. I can see that we will soon have an army of hunters, standing on the shore, their eyes peeled and body still, aping the statues of Easter Island.
I scoff. Actually, I’m surprised monsters haven’t been seen here before. Sightings are so common around the world, and could have a viable explanation (See my Mysteries page on Beyond the Blog), but I can’t get it out of my head that tourism is falling in the area.
